International Grand Prix rider Sarah Sjoholm-Patience is a world class rider, trainer and coach, passionate about developing horses and riders to their full potential and through encouragement and nurturing build the confidence and talent needed to achieve their individual goals. Below you can read about some of the services Sarah offers to help achieve this. She is now also available to take on horses to compete at a variety of levels and through skill and experience push them to equestrian greatness.
Coaching
At the heart of her coaching is Sarah’s ability to help riders achieve a consciousness of their position and consistency of aids that are applied clearly and effectively. The result is simple: improved rider control and confidence and an ability to truly school, train and compete horses effectively. Difficult horses become willing partners, average horses stand out from the crowd and magic happens when the true talent of a fantastic horse is unlocked.
Training
Working progressively with German training scales, Sarah treats every horse as an individual, creating a tailored plan for each. She is passionate about creating a willing and enthusiastic athlete so, just as she does with riders, she finds and nurtures a horse’s natural motivation and talent. A training program is then created to suit the horse’s temperament, level of fitness and intended use. Using cross-training and varied schooling routines, Sarah keeps horses interested and balanced as they build strength and skill.
Simulator Lessons
Sarah teaches on the Racewood simulator which offers the rare ability to have the coach at your side making positional adjustments while you are executing movements even in canter, as well as being able to offer limitless repetitions without risk of fatigue or injury. Your experience can be completely tailored to your ambitions, fitness and current abilities.
Horse Shopping
Working directly for you, rather than vendors, Sarah can support you to your preferred level, from assessing your candidate horse through to arranging and accompanying you on a shopping trip. With a wide variety of contacts in the UK, Germany, Holland and Spain, Sarah can help you source suitable options to try out as you look for the right fit.
Clinics
Clinics with Sarah are an ideal opportunity for those riders unable to access regular coaching with Sarah. This can be for any number of reasons such as location, or for those riders regularly working with other coaches but looking for a different perspective.
Competition Riding
Combining years of experience in producing horses from young horses through to competing for Canada on the International Grand Prix circuit, Sarah possesses all the necessary skills and experience needed to get the best out of your horse in the show ring.
